LOCO Local

About the event

Poplar Film was part of the 2015 LOCO Local festival on Sunday 25th January.  We showed six short films from LOCO's selected shortlist and commissioned some fantastic comedy shorts.  The evening ended with a screening of Damien O’Donnell's East is East.

LOCO Local is the strand of the festival where we reach out to local film clubs and societies across London to become honorary festival venues. Working with this brilliant selection of passionate individuals and groups enables us to engage more film-lovers in the celebration of comedy films. It also means that we can help clubs to get their hands on a broader selection of titles that they might not otherwise be able to source, including British independent comedy features and shorts. We also introduce clubs to filmmakers where possible to provide unique perspectives for introductions and Q&As across London and bring the fans and the filmmakers closer together.
